Ingredients

For the Pizza Dough:

· 1 pound pizza dough (homemade or store-bought)

For the Toppings:

· 1 medium delicata squash

· 1 tablespoon olive oil

· Salt and pepper to taste

· 1 jalapeno pepper, thinly sliced

· 2-3 scallions, thinly sliced

· 1 ball of burrata cheese

For Garnish (optional):

· Fresh basil leaves

· Red pepper flakes

· Balsamic glaze

Instructions

1. Preheat the Oven:

1. Preheat your oven to the highest temperature setting (usually around 475-500°F or 245-260°C). Place a pizza stone or upside-down baking sheet in the oven to preheat as well.

2. Prepare the Delicata Squash:

1. Wash the delicata squash and slice it in half lengthwise. Remove the seeds with a spoon and discard them.

2. Cut the squash into thin half-moon slices, about 1/4 inch thick.

3. Place the sliced delicata squash in a bowl and toss with olive oil, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.

3. Roll Out the Pizza Dough:

1. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a circle or rectangle, depending on your preference and the shape of your pizza stone or baking sheet.

2. Transfer the rolled-out dough to a piece of parchment paper for easy transfer to the oven.

4. Assemble the Pizza:

1. Arrange the sliced delicata squash evenly over the pizza dough.

2. Scatter the sliced jalapeno and scallions over the squash.

3. Tear the burrata cheese into small pieces and distribute them over the pizza.

5. Bake the Pizza:

1. Carefully transfer the assembled pizza (along with the parchment paper) onto the preheated pizza stone or baking sheet in the oven.

2. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and crispy, and the toppings are cooked and slightly caramelized.

6. Garnish and Serve:

1. Once the pizza is done baking, remove it from the oven and let it cool for a minute or two.

2. Garnish the pizza with fresh basil leaves, a sprinkle of red pepper flakes for heat, and a drizzle of balsamic glaze for sweetness (if desired).

3. Slice the pizza and serve hot.
